Hello, I'm Anukul.

/änək(ə)l/ — sounds like ‘monocle’

I grew up in Kathmandu and went to school in Kalimpong, in the foothills of the Himalayas. Over the past 15+ years I’ve helped build products and teams at Intuit, Salesforce, Gusto, and Moloco — starting as a designer and eventually building teams, shaping strategy, and shipping products I’m proud of.

At Moloco, I built the design team from scratch for its Ads platform, part of a business that grew 8x in three years to $300M+ in revenue. At Gusto, I helped scale the platform from 60K to 200K+ businesses, contributing to 60% YoY ARR growth.

These days I’m building with AI tools like Claude Code and learning how designers can move faster from idea to working product. It’s been a fun ride.

I’m drawn to startups where design is a competitive advantage and where people think, build, and ship together.

When I’m not working, you’ll find me outdoors in Santa Barbara with my wife and two kids — coaching youth soccer, hiking, or behind a camera trying to capture something worth keeping.
